| The Children's Hospital opened in January and has already had a positive impact on thousands of children and their families from across the region and the UK. The new hospital brings together childrens services from Oxfordshire into one purpose-built, child and family friendly facility, to treat more than 65,000 children each year. The Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust http://www.oxfordradcliffe.nhs.uk (ORH) is one of the largest teaching trusts in the country, working in association with the University of Oxford's Medical Sciences Division and the School of Health and Social Care at Oxford Brookes University. In 2004, over half a million outpatients were treated and nearly 50,000 people were admitted for inpatient care. |

| GPs refer patients to the four hospitals (the John Radcliffe, Churchill Hospital, the Radcliffe Infirmary in Oxford, and the Horton Hospital in Banbury) from Oxfordshire and the bordering counties. The hospitals also treat patients referred from district general hospitals from as far away as Milton Keynes, Gloucester, Swindon and Slough. The ORH Charitable Funds The Oxford Radcliffe Hospital (ORH) Charitable Funds (Registered Charity No. 1057295) is the group charity for the ORH NHS Trust. The Funds are made up of over 700 individual earmarked funds covering almost all specialties and departments of the Trust. These include research funds, staff and patient welfare funds and funds set up for the education and development of staff. The Oxford Children's Hospital Campaign was launched in September 2002, with the target of raising £15 million from fundraising to build the new Children's Hospital, which will be a centre of excellence dedicated to the care of children.
