Soverin

A young, talented, rock band, ranging from 14 to 16. The band has been together for just over 2 years now. Songwriter Joe Hamilton wrote their first song when he was 11 and the band recorded their first album Runaway the following year.

Since then they have played at clubs, pubs and private parties, as well as at various gigs, including the Bicester Snooker Club, the Courtyard, the Mill in Banbury and the Merton Beer Festival.

Soverin have recently recorded a mini album in aid of the Children’s Hospital Oxford. The album includes a bonus video of the hospital song Hold My Hand and is due out in local record shops on 28th August. Priced at a bargain £2 for 4 tracks and a video, you might like to give a small donation on top of this price.

The wRants

The band formed when they were pupils at the Warriner School. They perform a mix of traditional folk and rock-based music. They have played at various gigs and folk festivals including Cropredy and Cornbury.

They range in age from 15 to 18. They use traditional and contemporary instruments. This is an up and coming band already semi-professional – one to look out for!

Adam Smith

Adam is a talented musician who has played at various venues. He played with his school rock band (Black Ivy) last year in the Oxford Rock and Pop Festival. Adam plays rock covers but also writes his own music.

Saxophone Quartet from Headington School Oxford

Miss Lesley Grant led the quartet: Anna Thompson-Rowlands, Charlotte Levy, Rosie Cohen, Amy Irvine.

Winners of this year’s Oxford Chamber Music Festival. They have played at various venues, are in year 12 and go off to university next year.

Blessed George Napier Choir

Mr Tim Wilson brought the choir together about 15 years ago. They have sung all over Europe e.g. Italy, Austria, Holland, Prague, Euro Disney. They are hoping to go to New York in 2008. Many of the youngsters were recently involved in an excellent production of Grease.
